PILOT4DEV invites you to an "Online workshop on Climate Adaptation and the Preservation and Restoration of Coastal Ecosystems." The workshop focuses on preserving and restoring marine coastal ecosystems, specifically on the pioneering efforts of the Adapt’ Island project.
This 2nd online workshop will coincide with the occasion of the EU Belgian Presidency Summit on Climate Adaptation and Climate Resilience. The event will be a side event to the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union Climate Summit Europe 2024: Wallonia Summit (scce24wallonie.eu/en/)
Background:
The Adapt' Island initiative, co-funded by the EU, has been led by the G.P.M.G. Guadeloupe Harbour since 2019. The Initiative seeks to revitalise eco-systems, corals, and mangroves across an expansive 8000 ha maritime zone in Guadeloupe. Beyond restoration, this project is poised to establish effective methodologies for replication in other territories.
