Plastic, as a material, can be harmful to ecosystems as well as human health and the management and treatment of plastic waste are complex processes. The exports of plastic waste greatly impact local environments and communities. This policy brief explores the impacts of these exports in South East Asia and the solutions that can be (or should be) implemented to tackle this issue.
